emMY Goodness!

Tony oh Tony! Where for art thou Tony?

At last night's Tony Award's (Sunday June 13th) "Hollywood took on Broadway" and they surely came to shine.

The fashion chooses equally disappointed me as well as impressed me. With bad shapes, colors and styles but also fabulous couture, I just didn't know where to begin.

Today we have a few "The HIT-List" Winners, some uhh Predictables and some What We're They REALLY Thinking?

Winners: Scarlett Johannson, Lea Michele and the lovely Naomi Watts

Scarlett Johannson

The ever so elegant, modern pin-up dream girl, looked beyond radiant last night when she won an Emmy for "Best Actress in a Play" for her role in 'A View From A Bridge'.

She wore a beautiful double shouldered strap, sparkly and form fitting black Elie Saab gown and Harry Winston jewels to complete the classic look.

Lea Michele

This Glee-ful bright star lit up the carpets in her yellow and dreamy gown by the amazing designer Zac Posen.

The color, the look, the hair, EVERYTHING was on point with this look. Keeping her accessories simple with a gold box clutch.

Naomi Watts

How many light bulb watts does it take to look this good?

Light bulbs? Not so much, but it takes one Naomi to nail a look that is simple, rich and classy.

She dazzled the Red Carpet when she accompanied husband and nominee, Liev Schreiber to the ceremony.

She wore a bold shouldered RM by Roland Mouret cream gown, Marchesa clutch and Fred Leighton jewels. BEAUTIFUL!

Now for the "Uh Okay Close but No Cigar" and Predictable looks

Catherine Zeta Jones, Lucy Liu and Paula Abdul

Catherine Zeta-Jones

I love her! Don't get me wrong. Everything about this Actress reeks Sophistication, but this look not only was predictable for the star but also too much.

The pale blue Atelier Versace gown that she referenced Cinderella when having trouble getting on stage to accept her award. "She asked how did Cinderella do it?" The dress did in some way remind me of a Cinderalla-esque inspired wedding gown wouldn't you agree? But she did win with her glamorous Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Lucy Lui

The color wasn't the bad part, neither was the jewels but the attraction in the middle just makes the petite actress look like she's hiding a pregnancy bump... No rumors to be started.

This pastel pink, strapless Marchesa gown, Roger Vivier clutch and Stephen Russell jewels were beautiful and but not something you would expect Ms. Lui to wear, but a dress you expect to see nonetheless.

Paula Abdul

The member to join the CBS family is Paula Abdul with her new show "Got to Dance."

News to be very excited for but the scream dress Eva and Paula. Ms. Longoria and Ms. Abdul are always known for their flowy, feathery, wedding combos but I would have expected something a bit more out of the norm for Paula last night.

The Tony Ward Couture gown was gorgeous but come on Paula show us what ELSE you got!!

You ready now? For "The Black-List"?

Cate Blanchett, Katie Holmes and Kristin Chenoweth

Not going to say either of these leading ladies looked horrid but they did lack taste and the level of appropriateness for the event.

Cate Blanchett

Her look is always hitting the right notes and signature pose always displays her confidence but I'm afraid she was TOO confident with this look.

The aluminum foil/UFO inspired suit by Armani Prive just didn't make sense.

This is definitely a look, along with most looks from the Prive collection that is made entirely for Lady Gaga.

She finished this look with Van Cleef & Arpels jewels and a Roger Vivier clutch.

Katie Holmes

The silver maxi by Armani Prive and wedges are too summer and too casual for a night out with some A-List Celebs.

The overall look just seemed like she got back from accompanying, Suri at the park.

Katie, we all know your a mom and a busy lady but at least try sometimes to show you are still an actress.

Kristin Chenoweth

I don't know how old Kristin is and I don't think she does either.

The look was just a tad over the "sexy" border and a bit too short.

The white Tony Ward Couture mini dress and Brumani jewels looked like she was trying a bit too hard.

But other than that it was a night with unforgettable moments and a hilarious host, Will and Grace's, Sean Hayes.

Spike This!!

On Saturday (June 5th) the all manly, star studded celebration of testosterone, announced it's winners of the 4th Annual Spike "Guys Choice Awards," the TV "Guys Choice" awards in other words. The event was held at the Sony Studios in Los Angeles.

Do the Starlets know just how to "turn" the men on or what? Today's "The HIT-List" has more than just one or two winners but 4 all together!

The Winners are: Sandra Bullock, Charlize Theron, Kelly Osbourne and Scarlett Johansson.

Sandra Bullock

She didn't just nab the "Entertainer of the Year" award but she wowed the audience with her surprise and unexpected appearance. I guess when she said in her MTV acceptance speech just the next day (Sunday June 6th) that she wanted things to go back to normal she meant it. She looked incredible in a skin tight leather dress, very sexy and daring, yet very sophisticated. I'm glad to see you back Sandy!

Charlize Theron

South African beauty Charlize Theron, who was on hand to pick up the well-deserved "Hottest Woman of the Decade" award, looked amazing in a leather combo as well. A beautiful one shouldered, black Versace top, leather mini skirt, and fierce metallic heels.

Kelly Osbourne

Shown here with brother, Jack. Looked incredible in a black Isabella Oliver dress and a daring yet fitting Betsey Johnson leopard print jacket.

I'm happy to see how happy and healthy the Osbourne's are all doing. Good for them.

Scarlett Johansson

Sandy B might have wowed with her appearance but it was her "Proposal" co-star's other half who stole the amazing look award.

She was a sunny addition to the sex driven awards, in this beautiful yellow Preen dress and understated but sexy nude Jimmy Choo sandals.

The 4th Annual Spike "Guys Choice Awards," will premiere on Spike TV Sunday, June 20.

AF I don't want to look!

At last night's (June 10th) AFI + TV Lands Award ceremony at Sony Studios in Culver City, Hollywood came out to honor director Mike Nichols, who received the 38th AFI Life Achievement Award.

"Mike Nichols is one of the few individuals who has actually won an Oscar, an Emmy, a Tony, and a Grammy. That is an amazing feat almost unheard of." But, though it should have been all about Mr. Nichols it was also about the "Where have they been- Ex Celebrity" Star gala.

Among guests were Cher, Candice Bergen, Calista Flockhart and Warren Beatty. As well as the top dogs, Harrison Ford, Michael Douglas, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and the beautiful Natalie Portman and Meryl Streep.

Apparently there was a theme with wardrobe and EVERYONE got the memo. Lady Gaga picked up what Betty White put down. Granny Chic.

There were Youngin's wearing Granny attire and Granny's wearing Youngin' attire!! Madness I say, Pure Madness!!

Calista Flockhart

Arrived hand in hand with long time love Harrison Ford, but brought the wrong attention to her, umm "outfit". The petite actress wore a busy print dress, that had absolutely no shape. Her look aged her ungraciously 10 years.

Natalie Portman

The beautiful Natalie Portman surprised me and possibly the crowd. The look wasn't "bad" but it wasn't right.

It might have been the color, but the look didn't suit her age and maturity. It was too young in the color and too old in the shape.

This blush lace dress from Dior, rosette-embellished pumps and a velvet clutch, just screamed STOP!

Now, speaking of Granny's switching rolls with their children, prime example was the always attractive, yet unfashionable (sorry) Cher!

Cher

I love you Cher! and I always will. From your gorgeous hair to amazing voice. But really?? Your look is sooo umm "Wicked".

Yeah, I admit you have a great body for your age but please for us all! No more shopping in the Halloween section!

At least SOMEONE dressed their age, but that's what also scares me just a tad. Age sometimes also means appropriate but on the other side is also still means NICE and this get-up doesn't side with either of those pre-reqs.

Candice Bergen

Candice Bergen arrived in a very SHINY and unattractive number.

Come on Murphy Brown! let's channel your pant suit days in a better fabric, shape and color!!

Oh well, sometimes its comfort over style. At least I hope it was in these instances.

Congratulations Mr. Nichols
! Let us still remember, it is for you they arrived.

"The TV Land 38th AFI Life Achievement Award to honor Mick Nichols will be aired on June 26 on TV Land."

Biel-lionaire

Jessica is a Biel-lionaire!

Ms. Jessica Biel has done it again! This time it wasn't to promote her movie, A-Team either.

The cutie sent from Heaven has made a daring yet very sophisticated choice for the N.Y.C. launch of hairstylist, Mark Townsend's web magazine, MARKTBeauty.com.

Biel, graces the June web pages of MARKTBeauty.com in different looks from a "blue-eye shadowed boho babe to an Eighties glamazon, and even an Edie Sedgwick-inspired blonde look."

To the launch on Tuesday (June 8th) she wore a beautiful emerald green ruffled Oscar de la Renta blouse and embroidered, royal blue skirt and diamond earrings from Tiffany & Co.

She looked marvelous and very fresh. Her looks are now featured on Townsend's site with styling tips on how to achieve the looks.

Not going to lie, I am obsessed with the black black, low plunging, sequined Ralph Lauren dress she is wearing in the 3rd picture from the site. Bravo Jessica! You have marked "The HIT-List" Hall of Fame!

To get the looks, Townsend used the entire Moroccan Oil hair care line, that you can purchase at any beauty store or salon. Check out a Carlton Hair Salon near you or go to www.carltonhairinternational.com

CMT (Carrie Meets Taylor)

CMT- Country Music Awards showdown or is it called a hoedown? Whatever you want to call it these Country Babes have what it takes, in the style department. My top picks, which are also the most surprising, not because they won "The HIT-List" Awards but what they chose to wear. They both stepped out of the box and surprised viewers by going the opposite of the norm.

Country Queen, Carrie Underwood and Country Princess, Taylor Swift looked phenomenal last night (June 9th) at the CMT Awards in, non other than, Nashville, Tenn., home of the Country Music Phenomenon.

Taylor Swift turned heads in a great way. She showed up on the Blue Carpet in a beautiful cooper red John Galliano bubble dress and beautiful heels. What surprised the audience the most is her straight hair and like of glitter prom-esque dresses she usually wears at these events.

Another surprising beauty also wowed fans. Carrie Underwood, traded in her short, one shouldered, light colored, embroidered dresses for a beautiful bright pink, sheer Jenny Packham mini with a plunging neck and beautiful silver and black embellishments. She also wore a gorgeous clutch by the designer and amazing heels.

Other country babes that also graced the entrance to the awards were: Julianne Hough and Lady Antebellum's, Hillary Scott.

Julianne Hough

This Dancing with the Stars and now Country singer, showed us what dancing really does a body good. She wore a beautiful yellow, sparkly Georges Hobeika dress with just minimal jewelry, muted heels and clutch which really showcased her jewel of an ensemble.

Hillary Scott

This Lady, looked amazing in a gorgeous A-Symmetric black, tight and sparkly David Meister dress and smokey makeup. She definitely looked like a winner.

Now, you know this wouldn't be "The HIT-List" if I didn't also feature the winners of "The Black-List" as well. Yes, I call them winners too, because losers, would be mean and they obviously caught my attention. So, being the optimistic and generous person/critic that I am, they are also winners in my book... I guess.

So here are the "winners" of last night's, CMT "The Black-List":
Hayden Panettiere and Kellie Pickler.

Hayden Panettiere

Okay the teal is amazing, but the teal hoochie mama, greek goddess meets Bambi the stripper isn't what I call, "pretty."

It's a shame to see a dress by, Emilio Pucci land on this list, but it just isn't working here. The colors are terrific with Hayden's newly cut, blonde, pixie hair, but the look?... not so much.

Kellie Pickler

Talk about style overload. Kellie wore a black and gold (mostly gold) Zuhair Murad number. Though the dress has potential the overly accessorized, "matchy match" shoes and stick straight hair... makes this a style Don't.

But, of course, I would like to congratulate the winners of last night fun-filled ceremony:

Winners for the 2010 CMT Music Awards

"Cowboy Casanova," Carrie Underwood

Male Video of the Year

January is so June!

Mad Men's beautiful January Jones is not just incredible on screen in her 1960s ensembles, but she is a definite woman of this millennium, off screen as well.

Today's "The HIT-List" Winner is January Jones!

Tuesday (June 8th) was not just a day to honor the women of the year with Glamour, but to also to pay homage to the world's oceans and the important role the oceans play in our lives.

Ms. Jones showed dazzled the red carpet in a beautiful and rather appropriate color scheme.

I think its safe to say January made waves, in her mixed-print minidress, delicate gold jewelry and beige peep-toes.

This woman is HOT!

Glamour-izing Women

At Tuesday's (June 8th) Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London showed just how stylish Glamour means to these young starlets.

Gracing the red carpet so beautifully were and winning "The HIT-List" Awards for best dressed at an Event were:

Nicole Richie and Kelly Rowland and some... uh hmm, not so "Glamorous":
Cheryl Cole
, Zoe Saldana and really?? of course Lily Allen.

Nicole Richie

The beautiful mommy of two and legendary, Lionel Richie's daughter, looked flawless last night in this Peach Grecian Goddess inspired dress and "wham bam thank you maam" jewelry. Her hair was just the right look for this strapless gown and I think she pretty much worked it full on.

She took home the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at and even tweeted about her evening: "My fake british accent is in full effect tonight!"

Kelly Rowland

This Commander beauty looked fabulous in a skin tight ruched and pleated gray and black trimmed dress.

Her simple black pumps and clutch just kept the point of the dress highlighted. Her hair and simple make up was 100% flattering no matter what she wore.

AND...

Here are my not so hot picks from the evening.

I am very sad and surprised to say that the beautiful Zoe Saldana made my list but unfortunately she did.

Looking at her from the neck up you just want to scream "GORGEOUS" but from the neck down, however, you want to pass her a bottle of Nair.

This sheer lace and silk Vionnet dress might look incredible up close but in all the pictures the lace just looked like she just stepped out of a gorilla movie set.

Her choice of black YSL pumps and Solange Azagury-Partridge ring, bumped up her grade to a solid B.

She did have one win though. The Avatar actress took home the Film Actress of the Year Award.

Cheryl Cole

I'm probably going to get a lot of hate comments for putting newly single, 28 year old, Ms. Cole on "The HIT-List's" Black list, but I have to do my "hating".

Her hair and her dress seriously need work. I can't even pin point what her hair is trying to do and her dress, though its a beautiful color and fit just looks like a baby doll with a sheer train attached.

Her shoes and beautiful envelope clutch are the only things that can save her with this look.

But it's not the look (I'm guessing) that won her the Woman of the Year title, it must have been all those years of performing.

Congrats Girl!

Lily Allen

Really? Are you surprised by this? The talented singer has a voice that can make you love her but a style that makes you, kind of hide her.

She showed up on the red carpet channeling, Morticia Addams of the Addams' Family.

But at least she did win the Solo Artist of the Year Award. With this outfit, I'm sure she arrived solo.

Along the list of guests the winners for the evening also included:

Accessory Designer of the Year – Emma Hill

Band of the Year – Florence + The Machine

Comedy Actress of the Year – Ruth Jones

Film-Maker of the Year – Sam Taylor-Wood

Presenter of the Year – Christine Bleakley

Writer of the Year – Sarah Waters

Sheer Infusion Newcomer – Alexandra Burke

Sportswoman of the Year – Amy Williams

Editors Special Award – Anna Kendrick

US TV Actress of the Year – Lea Michele

TV Personality of the Year – Dannii Minogue

Fashion Designer of the Year – Isabel Marant

Outstanding Contribution – Yoko Ono

Man of the Year – Aaron Johnson

Congratulations to all the winners!

Rachel Bil-lessima

Today's "The HIT-List" Winner is.... Rachel Bilson!!

This laid back yet adorable actress always looks like a breath of fresh air in her girly, hip and comfy styles. Rachel, seen here, is wearing a leaf-printed black and cream top, black pleated shorts. Her look is finished off with opaque tights, incredible wraparound cream wedges and a stellar and always in fashion Chanel bag.
A+ all around and that grade is also including her taste in men ;)

CFDAyyyy!!

I'm going to keep this entry to the point. I mean the CFDA is about class and sass and there isn't much to go off of but the Fashion, Fashion, FASHION baby!

So, here I have showcased the most brilliant and original looks all down to some "Hit-List Alums".

Diane von Furstenberg and Carolina Herrera

The Epitome of Class.

Jessica Stam

Beautiful and Chic in a black sheer, strapless gown and eye-catching, Dana Lorenz necklace.

Carmen Kass

In a sleek champagne, low plunging back and simple Michael Kors gown. Tres Chic!

Gwyneth Paltrow

She turned heads in this custom black single strap, peek-a-boo Michael Kors gown, crocodile clutch and Fred Leighton jewelry.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen with Sasha Pivovarova

But of course, this dynamic duo donned nothing more than their famous line, The Row alongside Sasha also in The Row. Ashley also added Van Cleef & Arpels jewels.

Jessica Biel

This "HIT-List" Beauty once again stayed on point in this Diane von Furstenberg gown that flattered her with no doubt.

Rachel Weisz

This beauty stayed true to her style and class in an elegant royal blue Jason Wu fitted gown.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Are we surprised? This SATC lady knows style. She honored the late designer, Alexander McQueen in one of his last pieces. She complemented the bright gown with Stephen Russell earrings and bracelets, and a bag, stingray diamond cuff and jade ring from VBH.

These ladies know what they are doing and what they're doing is something right.

MTViewing

Let's admit it. Do we ALL watch the MTV Awards just to root for our favorite actors/actresses'? Okay, okay SOME of us do. But, if you're fashion obsessed like I am, I await the awards seasons just to see the looks. Yes, the red carpet looks that have critics talking for weeks, after the day is over.

No wonder, why some celebs freak out months in advance to make sure their look is 'audience approved' and it explains why Stylist run around with no sleep making sure their client has THE look 'On Point.' Let's be real. If a celeb has a look that makes us scratch our heads in disgust, we don't blame them 100% for the look (we blame them for hiring their 'stylist' though), we blame their stylist.

So, here is my "The HIT-List" approved and disapproved celebs.

WINNERS:
Sandra Bullock and Kristen Stewart

Sandra Bullock

Oh Sandy!! I am and WILL ALWAYS be a fan. Not just for your work but your class, charisma, humility and STYLE.

This woman is like wine and gets better with age. She truly stood out as a classy woman at The MTV Awards, in this stunning plunging back and beaded Oday Shakar mini and Louboutin platforms.

My answer may be biased, though I don't think it is, because Ms. Oday Shakar is a FIDM Alum, like myself.

Regardless of what you think, I AM obsessed with this ensemble and look at her legs!! Dang!

Kristen Stewart

And... here.... is where my Fashion Expertise gets tested, by all of you. Ms. Stewart, a walking controversy all on her own. Her style however is not up to par, I agree. BUT, one thing we can all agree on is that she IS true to herself.

Her wardrobe always screams KRISTEN before you see her face. I actually LOVED this look and at first it wasn't something that JUMPED out at me.

This look was very original and fun, like The MTV Awards is supposed to be about.

This year everyone played it too safe and SPARKLY frocks were EVERYWHERE. I feel that everyone has lost their originality, but here Ms. Stewart proved me wrong.

She 'rocked' the red carpet in a two-tone silver and gold Dolce & Gabbana minidress. Her patent belt and satin Jerome C. Rousseau sandals changed the whole look into something a bit more casual which is a total DO.

Limbo Land Babes:
Scarlett Johansson and Lindsay Lohan

Scarlett Johansson

Ms. Ryan Reynolds is a beautiful, modern pin up girl. Her curvy body shape and beautiful blonde hair always is a Fashion Do, but sometimes its an "IFFY" Fashion Do.

She wore a knee length Dolce & Gabbana dress with a sweetheart top. The black dress had a green lace overlay which was what threw me a bit off. Lace in general is hard to pull off but COLORED lace is even harder. I give her points for pulling the look off spectacularly with her strawberry blonde hued hair. BUT, the look however was "too safe" for a HIT-List winner.

Lindsay Lohan

I am going to get some hits for this post and by "hits" I don't mean anything good. I am a fan of LiLo, a big fan actually. There is something about me being so entranced with "hot-messes" I just give them my full attention because I can't help but witness how they will "try" and turn their life and career around.

Lindsay's healthy glow is something that put her on this list, that and her shinny golden locks that makes me smile. Her subtle makeup and perfect choice of gown, gave her a much deserved "HIT-List" approved point.

Lindsay has been "hiding" her new accessory in a very classy way lately and proving she has what it takes to conquer her demons, so her choice of a jumpsuit combo was "different". What threw me off by this look was the two-tone effect. If the ensemble stayed closer to the one darker shade of gray, I think it would have been a better hit.

The Black-List:
Katy Perry and Anna Kendrick

Katy Perry

We all know Katy's quirky style, but NO to this whole superwoman look.

Poor thing maybe Russell Brand is really rubbing his style on his petite fiancee.

The wig, the Britney Spears inspired, glittery Zuhair Murad mini and yellow nails... NO! Her shoes however, are a definite do.

Anna Kendrick

It hurts my little diva heart to put Anna on this list but her look is always down to an A on the red carpet but her overall look seemed "rushed" for this event.

I know Anna is a FAN of mini dresses but this Zac Posen mini just didn't work on her shape and her hair! Was it still wet?

Let's just hope this is the last time we see this Twilight cutie like this.
