Tony oh Tony! Where for art thou Tony?
At last night's Tony Award's (Sunday June 13th) "Hollywood took on Broadway" and they surely came to shine.
The fashion chooses equally disappointed me as well as impressed me. With bad shapes, colors and styles but also fabulous couture, I just didn't know where to begin.
Today we have a few "The HIT-List" Winners, some uhh Predictables and some What We're They REALLY Thinking?
Winners: Scarlett Johannson, Lea Michele and the lovely Naomi Watts
Scarlett Johannson
The ever so elegant, modern pin-up dream girl, looked beyond radiant last night when she won an Emmy for "Best Actress in a Play" for her role in 'A View From A Bridge'.
She wore a beautiful double shouldered strap, sparkly and form fitting black Elie Saab gown and Harry Winston jewels to complete the classic look.
Lea Michele
This Glee-ful bright star lit up the carpets in her yellow and dreamy gown by the amazing designer Zac Posen.
The color, the look, the hair, EVERYTHING was on point with this look. Keeping her accessories simple with a gold box clutch.
Naomi Watts
How many light bulb watts does it take to look this good?
Light bulbs? Not so much, but it takes one Naomi to nail a look that is simple, rich and classy.
She dazzled the Red Carpet when she accompanied husband and nominee, Liev Schreiber to the ceremony.
She wore a bold shouldered RM by Roland Mouret cream gown, Marchesa clutch and Fred Leighton jewels. BEAUTIFUL!
Now for the "Uh Okay Close but No Cigar" and Predictable looks
Catherine Zeta Jones, Lucy Liu and Paula Abdul
Catherine Zeta-Jones
I love her! Don't get me wrong. Everything about this Actress reeks Sophistication, but this look not only was predictable for the star but also too much.
The pale blue Atelier Versace gown that she referenced Cinderella when having trouble getting on stage to accept her award. "She asked how did Cinderella do it?" The dress did in some way remind me of a Cinderalla-esque inspired wedding gown wouldn't you agree? But she did win with her glamorous Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
Lucy Lui
The color wasn't the bad part, neither was the jewels but the attraction in the middle just makes the petite actress look like she's hiding a pregnancy bump... No rumors to be started.
This pastel pink, strapless Marchesa gown, Roger Vivier clutch and Stephen Russell jewels were beautiful and but not something you would expect Ms. Lui to wear, but a dress you expect to see nonetheless.
Paula Abdul
The member to join the CBS family is Paula Abdul with her new show "Got to Dance."
News to be very excited for but the scream dress Eva and Paula. Ms. Longoria and Ms. Abdul are always known for their flowy, feathery, wedding combos but I would have expected something a bit more out of the norm for Paula last night.
The Tony Ward Couture gown was gorgeous but come on Paula show us what ELSE you got!!
You ready now? For "The Black-List"?
Cate Blanchett, Katie Holmes and Kristin Chenoweth
Not going to say either of these leading ladies looked horrid but they did lack taste and the level of appropriateness for the event.
Cate Blanchett
Her look is always hitting the right notes and signature pose always displays her confidence but I'm afraid she was TOO confident with this look.
The aluminum foil/UFO inspired suit by Armani Prive just didn't make sense.
This is definitely a look, along with most looks from the Prive collection that is made entirely for Lady Gaga.
She finished this look with Van Cleef & Arpels jewels and a Roger Vivier clutch.
Katie Holmes
The silver maxi by Armani Prive and wedges are too summer and too casual for a night out with some A-List Celebs.
The overall look just seemed like she got back from accompanying, Suri at the park.
Katie, we all know your a mom and a busy lady but at least try sometimes to show you are still an actress.
Kristin Chenoweth
I don't know how old Kristin is and I don't think she does either.
The look was just a tad over the "sexy" border and a bit too short.
The white Tony Ward Couture mini dress and Brumani jewels looked like she was trying a bit too hard.
But other than that it was a night with unforgettable moments and a hilarious host, Will and Grace's, Sean Hayes.
