Katie Holmes Max(i)-ed out!!

Okay I have always been a fan of Katie... from her girl next door style to her glamourous "that's MRS. TOM CRUISE to you" looks. She definitely proved that last night, at the National Movie Awards in London. She was SMASHING next to her leading man, Tom. Katie was wearing a gorgeous and quite flattering stripped Maxi dress from her own line 'Holmes & Yang' that she has begun with friend and stylist Jeanne Yang.

Maxi Dresses may seem like an easy throw on piece but to be honest (after years of trying) it really isnt. The style, shape, colors, etc all make a difference. Some may mistakenly make you look like you're 4 months along in a pregnancy even if your not. So I suggest if it's a look you are yearning to pull off, definitely shop around and try it on before pulling out your credit card and purchasing.

A few Maxi Dresses that are on 'The Hit-List" for being A+ worthy are the ones below:

STANTONJAMES.COM

This dress is a modern take on the greek-goddessy look of the Maxi. I love the plungging neck and the way the black begins under the bust creates a curvy yet sexy shape to any body style. This overall look is on point.

MAXI STRETCH DRESS $90

NET-A-PORTER.COM

This Maxi is too beautiful for words. It still sticks to the feel of the original Maxi but with a whimsical twist. The pairing of the white and the golds gives an understated sexy appeal. Yet, it enhances the shape of the body.

SASS & BIDE
BEADED LINEN DRESS $715

Another Net-A-Porter classic Maxi, is this belted number. It accentuates the curves and makes the Maxi a bit more form fitting. I especially love the nautical feel and the rope belting as the halter.

MILLY
HOSTESS BELTED JERSEY DRESS
$375

Topshop.com

To stay close to Katie's look this Maxi from Topshop is a more casual take. The bucket sleeves are great especially if you want to cover your shoulders and keep it more like a feel of a long T-shirt.

STRIPE JERSEY MAXI BY RARE $70

But if you are willing to wait to snag the same dress Katie wore, you must wait until Holmes & Yang to debut at L.A. Boutique Maxfield this fall. But start saving now. The line is set to be pretty pricey, even for their extension in Children Couture.

Xoxo,
