Karl Pregnant?

You might not know this... come to think of it... you wouldn't know this. Karl Lagerfeld, is one of my idols. From his blunt babels, style, poise and grace. Karl is a LEGEND. But, I didn't need to tell you THAT.

Italian Artist, AleXsandro Palombo, better known for his sometimes offensive and crude art work has done something that is genius and deserves to be on "THE HIT-LIST".

He isn't just a master in his illustrations, but in 1999 he launched the era of trendy-must have accessories in Knitwear. Featuring chic fusions of Mediterranean and Eastern styles.

In 2007, he decided to dedicate his creativity and true passion back into his illustrations, thus, creating his crude sense of humor in his work.

He has been quoted saying, "It is only through dreams and imagination that I have been able to capture and invent life my way." Spoken like a true artist.

His most recent work featuring my idol, Karl, and my other idol, Anne Wintour gracing the covers of his version of Vanity Fair and Vogue are remarkable.

This one features Karl and Valentino.. Simply Genius!

Keep an eye out: AleXsandro Palombo will have a book of his portraits and work due out in September of this year.

Katie Holmes Max(i)-ed out!!

Okay I have always been a fan of Katie... from her girl next door style to her glamourous "that's MRS. TOM CRUISE to you" looks. She definitely proved that last night, at the National Movie Awards in London. She was SMASHING next to her leading man, Tom. Katie was wearing a gorgeous and quite flattering stripped Maxi dress from her own line 'Holmes & Yang' that she has begun with friend and stylist Jeanne Yang.

Maxi Dresses may seem like an easy throw on piece but to be honest (after years of trying) it really isnt. The style, shape, colors, etc all make a difference. Some may mistakenly make you look like you're 4 months along in a pregnancy even if your not. So I suggest if it's a look you are yearning to pull off, definitely shop around and try it on before pulling out your credit card and purchasing.

A few Maxi Dresses that are on 'The Hit-List" for being A+ worthy are the ones below:

STANTONJAMES.COM

This dress is a modern take on the greek-goddessy look of the Maxi. I love the plungging neck and the way the black begins under the bust creates a curvy yet sexy shape to any body style. This overall look is on point.

MAXI STRETCH DRESS $90

NET-A-PORTER.COM

This Maxi is too beautiful for words. It still sticks to the feel of the original Maxi but with a whimsical twist. The pairing of the white and the golds gives an understated sexy appeal. Yet, it enhances the shape of the body.

SASS & BIDE
BEADED LINEN DRESS $715

Another Net-A-Porter classic Maxi, is this belted number. It accentuates the curves and makes the Maxi a bit more form fitting. I especially love the nautical feel and the rope belting as the halter.

MILLY
HOSTESS BELTED JERSEY DRESS
$375

Topshop.com

To stay close to Katie's look this Maxi from Topshop is a more casual take. The bucket sleeves are great especially if you want to cover your shoulders and keep it more like a feel of a long T-shirt.

STRIPE JERSEY MAXI BY RARE $70

But if you are willing to wait to snag the same dress Katie wore, you must wait until Holmes & Yang to debut at L.A. Boutique Maxfield this fall. But start saving now. The line is set to be pretty pricey, even for their extension in Children Couture.

Cannes Film Festival

Welcome, welcome, welcome anxious (I'm the only anxious one) readers... and welcome to my FIRST blog entry. How else can I start a soon to be amazing blog?? Writing about the most anticipated film festivals of the year where EVERYTHING is showcased. Not just fashion Dos but also Don'ts and also displaying social DON'Ts along the way.

CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

DOs

Kate Beckinsale, Michelle Williams and Camilla Belle.

Kate Beckinsale

Kate started off the evening in a wonderful Christian Dior Plum Flowy, yet classy Knee length dress. She added Nude Brian Atwood Pumps and her signature Fresh look. Simple Makeup, Hair and Jewelery.

She wowed again on the Red Carpet Opening Ceremony in a light powder blue Marchesa Gown. Everything about this look is on point. Her hair, her classic jewerley and her presence... There is nothing this woman can do wrong.

At AmfAR in Cannes, she wore Armani Prive. This one shoulder white gown her black clutch and her stunning Aura made her grade skyrocket.

And fo
r the most controversial out of all her looks yet...

There was mixed reviews on this look. However I loved it. It really captured her personality of being able to step out of the norm. This dark and edgy Balmain gown, showcased her best assets. She gets an A+ for this year.

Michelle Williams

I don't know about all of you but this was the best afternoon look in Cannes. Michelle looked radiant in her new 'do and her ensemble was displaying it perfectly. Her Suno AW10 Mini dress and Stella McCartney wedges balanced her look from her traditional jeans, tee, cardigan and flats.

Michelle... Michelle... Michelle... I love you and you are a beautiful woman but this light champagne Chanel Satin dress was unflaterring in every way possibly. Her petite frame was covered by something that resembled something more of a negligee then a dress to be worn to the Cannes After Party. She was a bonafide A+ until this look.

I am loving this look. She redeemed herself with this Sonia Rykel Mini Dress, Ferragamo heels and Chanel Clutch at AmfAR. The sparkly discs were off the top yet very classy.

Camilla Belle

Camilla wowed as a young actress on the red carpet in Cannes. In her Gucci Premiere Navy ensemble her sophisticated hair and makeup make her really stand out.

Once again she prevailed at AmfAR in a stunning Gucci Premiere strapless black gown with Swarovski crystal details, black satin heels and clutch with Cartier Jewels. Her makeup and hair once again captured the look of the dress to a T.

So that's why the actress was at Cannes? She wasn't there to promote any new movies but just to come and show off her amazing fashion sense! I applaud her. I would do the same ;). She looked amazing in this off the shoulder gunmetal and Swarovski beaded Gucci dress.

NOW... are you ready for the Don'ts? Be prepared what you are about to see is not pretty.

DON'TS

Mischa Barton, Diane Kruger and Grace Jones.

I don't even know where to start here. Mischa looks like a corpse bride that has come back from the dead. This Marchesa dress is not only too big but also too much. With her dark eye makeup and yellow hair.... this look is a DON'T!!

Diane Kruger could have done sooo much better. This Chanel dress just doesn't know what trend to keep and which to ditch. The off shoulder + sheer halter combo might be okay but not with a tiered skirt and satin bow to get in the mix. Poor thing.

Oh Grace!! What are we going to do with you?? I don't even know what she is wearing and I don't think (for the designers sake) I want to know!
